About Baltimore/Washington

Baltimore/Washington International is one of three major airports serving the DC metropolitan area and is a primary hub for Southwest Airlines. BWI's position between Baltimore and Washington means it experiences similar Northeast weather patterns to Reagan National and Dulles — nor'easters, summer thunderstorms, and occasional ice events. Its location on a plateau south of Baltimore makes it slightly less fog-prone than the other DC area airports.
