Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 May 2026. By using AirStatus you agree to these terms. If you have questions, please contact us.

1. About AirStatus

AirStatus (airstatus.live) is an independent real-time airspace disruption monitoring service. It aggregates publicly available data from official aviation sources — including the FAA National Airspace System (NAS) API, NATS PIB NOTAM feed, and the Aviation Weather Center NOTAM API — and presents this information in plain English.

AirStatus is operated as an independent project and is not affiliated with any airline, airport, aviation authority, or government body.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AirStatus, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the service.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

3. Accuracy of Information — Important Disclaimer

AirStatus provides information for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for official airline, airport, or aviation authority communications.

While we make every effort to display accurate, up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data displayed. Aviation status can change rapidly. Data is refreshed approximately every 15 minutes via automated polling of public sources.

Always verify with your airline or airport.

Before making travel decisions — including rebooking, cancelling hotel rooms, or changing plans — please confirm the current status directly with your airline or the relevant airport authority. AirStatus should be used as a first alert, not as a definitive source for operational decisions.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AirStatus and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of or reliance on information displayed on AirStatus
  • Missed flights, hotel costs, travel disruptions, or other losses based on information from this service
  • Inaccuracies, delays, or omissions in the data we display
  • Temporary unavailability of the service due to maintenance, technical issues, or third-party outages
  • Actions taken or not taken by airlines, airports, or aviation authorities

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of AirStatus shall not exceed £100 (one hundred pounds sterling).

5. Affiliate Links and Advertising

Some pages on AirStatus contain affiliate links to third-party services including AirHelp and Kiwitaxi (both via the TravelPayouts affiliate network). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. This does not affect the price you pay.

Affiliate links are clearly labelled throughout the site. We only include affiliates we consider genuinely useful to passengers experiencing disruptions.

AirStatus also displays advertisements via Google AdSense. These advertisements are served by Google and governed by Google's advertising policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

We do not endorse or take responsibility for the services provided by affiliate partners or advertisers. Your interactions with these third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Passenger Rights Information

Information about passenger rights under UK261, EU Regulation 261/2004, and US DOT rules is provided for general guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. Passenger rights law is complex and depends on specific circumstances including the airline, route, reason for disruption, and applicable jurisdiction.

We recommend consulting a qualified legal professional or a specialist passenger rights service (such as AirHelp) for advice specific to your situation.

7. Intellectual Property

The AirStatus name, logo, and website design are the intellectual property of AirStatus. Aviation data sourced from public government feeds (FAA, NATS, Aviation Weather Center) is subject to those organisations' own terms of use. We do not claim ownership of third-party data.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish material from AirStatus without express written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use AirStatus to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically download data in bulk without our written permission
  • Attempt to circumvent any technical measures protecting the service
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Transmit spam, malware, or other harmful content

9. Availability

We aim to keep AirStatus available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control including third-party data source outages.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of AirStatus shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
