About Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is the UK's busiest airport outside London and the main gateway for the North of England, serving over 30 million passengers annually. It operates two intersecting runways, which makes it sensitive to strong crosswinds from the westerly weather systems that regularly sweep across the Pennines. Manchester experiences some of the highest NATS flow control restriction frequency of any UK regional airport, particularly during summer when transatlantic traffic peaks.
