Glasgow Prestwick Airport is located on the Ayrshire coast south of Glasgow and handles a mix of transatlantic charter, cargo, and low-cost passenger operations. Its coastal location gives it excellent visibility statistics compared to Glasgow International — it rarely closes for weather — making it a popular diversion airport for other Scottish airports.
